Spiritual Backbone: Standing Alone

Last class Dr. Wright spoke of "blessing" as being the fellowship I have with God.  Later in the class, he spoke of the nature of the decision to go to Bible school when it is not approved of (by family and friends).  You and God, God and you...Dr. Stevens called this "Spiritual Self-Autonomy."  You do not stand alone in self-sufficiency; but due to your relationship with the source of life, your dialogue with the Person of Truth, and the Baptism of the Spirit into Christ's organic Body/family/bride/Church, YOU CAN TRULY STAND ALONE...without the acceptance or confirmations you think you may need, and against things that you think are insurmountable.  This is very important; to know that because of SITTING in receptivity, and WALKING practically as a Spirit filled believer in small steps of faith, you are being prepared to STAND.  This is not just a phenomenon in Bible stories, but something integral to life as a believer on a fallen planet.  What issues does God address in our hearts as he develops this spiritual backbone in us?....give a verse please.

True Witness: What does that look like??

Dear SOD Students: Here is the first of many thought provoking posts to activate your spiritual senses and capacities.  We know that the Great Commission states: Acts 1.8 "But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth."  The two words - Unto Me; its not saying for me... make a good show to others.  What did the Lord mean by this, and what does it look like?? Remember,  minimum of 3 posts; read what some of your fellow students are saying and make comments to each other. Enjoy!

Temple Dwellers

1 Cor. 3.16 says that we are the temple of God.
1- If this allegory can be taken farther, how does the temple's design speak to our design?
2- Why will understanding our "intangible anatomy" in this way lead us in true worship, prayer, and ministry?

The Matrix: how Lucifer created the Big Lie.

In a few sentences, tell me what you think 1John 5:19b means "The Whole World" Lies in wickedness. What would you recognize as some of the more important "devices" used to make the Cosmos diabolicus (world system) function. Check back often to your post for follow up comments fellow by your fellow students and myself.. enjoy!

Having the Full Thought of God

What could happen to my belief system, if I were to know and believe about Jesus Death, Burial, and Resurrection, but not much about the Ascension and Session? Or does it not matter at all?

How the Trinity lives as One

We spoke about the presence of both humility and leadership in the unity of the Triune God (Trinity).  Please give 1 verse which speaks to this truth; you may use your notes with that verse to share a small portion of thoughtful and purposed insight about this pre Angelic Family of God. PD

Morality isn't Spiritual
